Refill90 Agrees to Multi-Year Sustainability Partnership with the Beach Soccer Championships

The partnership aims to further the plastic-free hydration movement.

For Immediate Release – 03/08/2020

OCEANSIDE, CA – The 14th Annual Beach Soccer Championships, one of the largest beach soccer tournaments in the United States, declared that Refill90, a nationally recognized hydration and sustainability company, is the Official Sustainability Partner of the event.

“They will provide sustainable and responsible use of water and help us achieve our goal of reducing plastic waste at the event by 75 percent at a time when responsible use of our resources is more important than ever.”

FRANK ZIMMERMAN, BEACH SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

As part of the partnership, Refill90 will provide free drinking water and ice to all who bring a refillable bottle to The Beach Soccer Championships. Refill90’s mission is to eliminate single-use plastic from events.

“We are excited to have Refill90 partner with The Beach Soccer Championships this year,” said Frank Zimmerman, operator of the annual festival held in early May at the Oceanside Harbor Beach. “Refill90 has been increasing its footprint in Southern California at all the biggest youth soccer events and we are pleased to be their first event on the sand. They will provide sustainable and responsible use of water and help us achieve our goal of reducing plastic waste at the event by 75 percent at a time when responsible use of our resources is more important than ever.”

The festival draws over 10,000 participants and 50,000 attendees to the beaches of Oceanside during Cinco de Mayo weekend. It includes a Professional division which attracts some of the best beach soccer players in the world, such as Nick Perera and Chris Toth of the US National Beach Soccer Team.

“The Beach Soccer Championships is a world-class event that super-charges our message that staying hydrated shouldn’t pollute our beaches, harm our health or threaten our planet.”
